Trackers and digital craftsmen

We are experts in agile software development using artificial intelligence and data science techniques. Our customised software solutions help businesses improve their unique workflows and processes. Powered by a relentless drive for innovation, we build custom interfaces to your existing systems. And what’s best, our software solutions can be used in any industry. We are data trackers and digital craftsmen who focus on analysing and interpreting industrial data. Drawing on a wealth of experience and diverse perspectives, we have made it our mission to develop integrated solutions that help you harness the true value of your data.

Our company culture

An appreciative cooperation

We foster a culture that embraces diversity and flexibility to promote a future-oriented and international workplace. This is reflected in our international team comprising mathematicians, physicists, engineers, computer scientists, graphic designers, business experts, economists and linguists. We are proud of our open company culture and innovative strength. We are committed to cultivating a culture of appreciation, honest communication and flat hierarchies without bureaucracy, and strongly believe in mutual trust and team spirit, bringing all our expertise and experience together to achieve exceptional results together.

About us

How we work

Due to advancing digitalisation and technological developments, industrial companies are facing various challenges. With an ever-growing amount of data being generated in production processes every day, effectively using and analysing them has become increasingly difficult. As a data science company from the very beginning, we recognised the significance and impact of digital transformation early on and set our course back in 2011. Since then, we have made it our mission to help industrial companies collect, process and analyse data. Our software applications are used by small, medium-sized and large companies along the entire supply chain.

On 29 October 1969, the ifm group of companies was founded as ifm electronic Geräte GmbH + Co KG in Essen, Germany. In the same year, success started with the invention of inductive sensors for 220 V.

Then as now, ifm’s motivation has been to do it in a different way than all the others — and better. In order to live up to this motto, keep up with ever-changing market conditions and remain competitive, the company looked to expand its interdisciplinary competences. Over the last ten years, the former hardware company grew into a group of companies comprising several software firms from all areas of Industry 4.0, and widely diversified its position in the market. Together, they work on visionary ideas and innovative solutions in the fields of IIoT and camera technology. The new goal “from sensor to ERP” was established and has been pursued ever since, representing the symbiotic and strategic partnerships with all subsidiaries.

Today, ifm is the world market leader in the field of innovative sensor technologies, controllers, software and systems for industrial automation. With its 9,000 employees, the family-run company develops and implements consistent solutions to digitalise the entire value chain from the sensor to the ERP.

Part of ifm

The first joint project with ifm was launched in 2014. In 2019, ifm became a 51% shareholder of statmath GmbH and acquired 100% at the beginning of 2022. As a subsidiary of the ifm group of companies, we have the enormous advantage of being able to scale much more. In the past, we had customers from all over South Westphalia — now we operate globally with ifm.

The joint approach

The ifm group makes it possible for their customers to collect industrial data with the help of sensor technology. This data collected with ifm hardware can then be processed and refined by our software. The combination of high-performance sensors from ifm and our intelligent algorithms is truly unique on the market.

The core competence of ifm statmath within the ifm group of companies lies in artificial intelligence, which will be one of the main revenue drivers within the ifm group in the next 10 to 15 years.

Villa

We work in the heart of the German Siegerland region at two locations that could not be more different. Our head office is located in the centre of Siegen in an old city villa dating back to 1901. The charming old building creates a warm and inviting atmosphere while offering an ultra-modern work environment. It features a beautiful garden where employees can spend their lunch break or get together after work for barbecues and other activities. In spring 2023, the garden also became home to a bee colony — the “Employbees”.

SUMMIT

Our second company location is in the SUMMIT, the region’s new high-tech and IT centre. Besides its modern infrastructure, the building offers many features that create a pleasant and effective working atmosphere. A modern company restaurant, a gym, state-of-the-art conference rooms and excellent transport links make the SUMMIT an ideal workplace.

Our roots and milestones

In 2011, Dr Alexander Hoffmann and M.Sc./MBA Christian Friedrich founded the present-day data science company statmath GmbH. Our regional origins and roots lie in South Westphalia in the Siegerland region. Characterised by industry, this region has transformed from an iron ore mining region into an important commercial and industrial zone.
